Creating a new command & its service in NagiosXI 1.Place the plugin/script in “ /usr/local/nagios/libexec/ ” directory 2.Now to create a new command, go to configure -> Core Config Manager -> Commands . 3.And click on “ Add New ” button as shown in the below screenshot. 4.You will get a pop-up box filling all the details regarding the new command, & save it ( Enter the syntax properly as you want to use it further, refer the plugin help pages from where you have downloaded it ) 5,Once you have created the command it’s time to test it. 5.Go to “ Services ” on same page of Core config manger. 6.Click on “ Add New ” for creating a new service 7.Select the command that you just create from the drop down option in “ Check Command ”. And fill in rest of the details, as per your service check requirement. 8.Once it’s all done, save it and apply config by clicking on “ Apply Configuration ” button.
